Challenge for the Adventuresome Spirit
Panama is an unbeatable experience for the tourist and anyone who has an adventuresome
spirit or enjoys sports tourism.  In Panama you can take expeditions to little-known areas and
discover a new world full of natural wonder and exotic beauty.  Walk through the same forests
and jungles the conquistadors explored over 500 years ago, visit mysterious caverns dripping
with stalagmites and stalactites, or simply admire the waterfalls and amazing landscapes of this
tropical paradise.  Or pay a different kind of visit to the forest: see it from tree level,
approximately 66 meters, and experience the forest from a completely different point of view.

If it’s to the golf course green that
you turn for your sport of choice,
Panama offers the best golf courses
in Central America, including the
only computerized GPS system in
Latin America.  You can choose
between fabulous golf courses in
the Canal Zone near Panama City
or on the beach just an hour from
the city.

The Waters of Panama- A Prime
Spot for Water Sports Panama is the ideal place for a variety of water sports, such as fishing,
rafting, diving, snorkeling and surfing.  Panama has five world-renowned diving and snorkeling
sites, including Bocas del Toro, Coiba Island, Grande Island and for archeological/historical
dives, the Panama Canal.  The Bastimentos Island National Marine Park in Bocas del Toro
Province is the country’s premiere marine park and
includes part of Bastimentos Island and the Zapatillas Keys. Its 13,226 hectares make up one
of Panama’s largest and most beautiful marine habitats.  The reefs, mangroves, nesting
beaches and lagoons of its southern coast are key to the survival of many valuable species of
marine life.  Its remote location provides an ideal Caribbean refuge for endangered species.
Four species of sea turtles lay their eggs on these beaches between March and September.

The great rivers of Chagres and Volcán Barú National Parks have three and four-degree
rapids, as defined by the international classification of level of difficulty, and will take you on an
adventure through the rain forest.  You can also go kayaking or tubing, which is running the
river in an inflated tube, like a life jacket.  The best beaches for surfing are Puss Head Point,
Paunch Beach and Bluff Beach in Bocas del Toro.
Alajuela Lake is known for its fishing and water sports, such as water skiing, jet skiing, sailing
and swimming.  Panama also has offers excellent fishing opportunities on the Pacific Ocean
and the Caribbean Sea, as well as on Lake Gatún and Piña Bay, which has 170 world fishing
records to its credit.  For these reasons and many more, Panama is the vacation par
excellence for nature lovers, fishing and water sports enthusiasts.
