Known for its cool, fresh climate and pristine natural
environment, the 30,000 mts2 Finca Yaravi is nestled
in the highlands of Buenos Aires in the Sorá mountain
region north of Bejuco. It's a fine place for walking,
bird-watching, or horseback riding.
Located only 45 minutes east of Panamá City, Finca
Yaravi is in the community of Buenos Aires near the town
of Sorá, district of Chame, province of Panamá.
The property is accessed from the City by a modern
four-lane highway until the turnoff at Bejuco and then by
a well-maintained two-lane highway to the mountains surrounding
Sorá.
With an elevation between 500 and 1,154 meters (1,640 to 3,786 feet), the area's year-round
average high temperature is 20° C (68° F), while the average minimum is 16° C (61° F). As
with all of Panamá, the year is divided into dry and wet seasons (also called Summer and
Winter). Temperatures vary little but precipitation will increase during the wet or winter season.

Part of the magnetism of the Finca Yaravi is the beautiful, panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean
and of the Cerro Picacho and Cerro Jaime mountains.  There is unsurpassed natural beauty in
Finca Yaravi as you are surrounded by 90 Teak trees, 130 coconut palm trees, and many fruit
trees such as mango, guanabana, orange and many others.

Recently built in 2005, the pressure treated wooden Cabin provides the simple comforts of
home while enjoying panoramic views and swaying palm trees from the deck or pool. Not too
far from where you are, you can hear the playful singing of parrots as they stop by a mango tree
for a midday snack.  As you stroll through Yaravi, you may be greeted by Ruki, the resident
horse, or by the friendly geese family which will most likely be playing joyfully in their pond.
Nearby you will come across the chicken coup with baby chicks, guinea hens, a turkey and
multiple chickens, fighting cocks and roosters of all sorts.

As you continue walking to the lower portion of the Finca Yaravi you will come across a few
plantations of bananas, plantains, papayas, oranges, grapefruits, limes, Chinese lemons,
guayabas, guanabana, yucca and a large production of premium black pigeon peas. On the
slopes you can enjoy the spectacular viewing of the resident wild monkeys in the avocado tree
while listening to the flowing waters of the creek below.
The scenery envelopes you with beautiful sights and sounds as you hike around the Finca
Yaravi.  A rare heliconia and ginger collection is in its second year of blooming which provides
a wonderful tropical cut flower for every day enjoyment.
The lush, green tropical rainforests are the product of a rich, volcanic soil from ancient times.
Some of the trees in the area include these tropical species: Espave (Anacardium excelsum),
Cedro Espino, (Bombicopsis quinata), Amargo (Quassia amara), Copé, (Chrysochlamys
nicaraguensis), Cedro Amargo, (Tabebuia rosea Bignoniaceae), Cocobolo (Dalbergia retusa),
Mountain pine trees (Pinus Caribea), Guayacan (Tabebuia guayacan), Laurel, (Laurus nobilis),
Madroño, (Arbutus unedo) and Lluvia de Oro (Cassia fistula).

The highlands region is the habitat of the Harpy Eagle, Tody Mot Mot, Dull-mantled Antbird,
Eye-ringed Flatbill, Buff-throated Saltator, White-tipped Sicklebill, Green Hermit, Sunbittern,
Bay-headed and Emerald tanagers, deer, sloths, monkeys, mammals and golden frogs. (The
Golden Frog (Atelopus zeteki) is an endangered species found on the surrounding mountains.
Additionally, rivers, ponds, lakes, waterfalls, tropical rainforests, and mountains surround the
area
